Healing Chakras for Wellness: A Journey Back to Balance

All of us at some time feel tired without reason, emotionally stuck, or unable to move forward in life — even when we try our best to feel normal again. This is not just “mood” or “luck.” It indicates that our inner energy system — our chakras — needs healing. In ancient Vedic wisdom, chakras are spinning energy centres in our subtle body that govern our physical health, emotional stability, thoughts, behavior, and spiritual connection (you can read my previous articles to learn more about chakras). They are like invisible gears that run our life. When they are balanced, we feel grounded, confident, clear, healthy, and connected. When they are blocked, we may experience anxiety, financial stress, relationship struggles, health concerns, anger, or even lack of creativity. Healing chakras is not just a spiritual practice — it is essential for practical daily living.

I have been in healing work for the past 18 years now, and I have often felt that many of our issues could be resolved by just having aura cleansing and chakra balancing.  I remember working with a client named Aarav (name changed due to privacy issues), a talented graphic designer who felt stuck in his business. He kept getting ideas but couldn’t execute them. He procrastinated, doubted himself, and constantly compared himself to others. As we worked on his Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) through breathwork, beej mantra chanting (RAM), and adding yellow foods like bananas, lemon water, and turmeric into his diet, something shifted. He started feeling more confident, made clearer decisions, and his creativity returned. Within three months, he was confident that he could independently expand his work, he kept up with regular healings by learning Reiki from me, and later that year he launched his own design studio, something he had feared for years. Chakra healing doesn’t “fix” life — it aligns our inner energy so life can begin to move forward.

Another woman, Meera (name changed due to privacy issue) came for relationship issues. She felt unloved and disconnected, even though her family was supportive. We focused on healing her Heart Chakra (Anahata) using gratitude journaling, green leafy foods, gentle yoga stretches, and chanting YAM. She also practiced forgiveness exercises for 7 days. Within weeks, she felt emotionally lighter and open to love. Family conversations improved, and she even started expressing her needs without guilt. This is what chakra healing does — it opens us to emotional intelligence and wise responses instead of emotional reactions. Sometimes simple changes will make you look deeper in your own life and help you resolve issues that made you feel suffocated and stuck.

About Chakras

Healing chakras involves simple and practical lifestyle changes. For example, the Root Chakra (Muladhara) needs grounding. Walking barefoot on grass, eating root vegetables like carrots and beetroot, creating financial plans, and repeating the affirmation “I am safe and stable” sends signals to the body that life is supported. When this chakra is blocked, people feel anxious, unstable, or stuck in survival mode. I have seen entrepreneurs unable to make money simply because their Root Chakra was imbalanced — when they felt financial fear constantly, they unconsciously blocked opportunities. Once grounded, they started attracting clients easily.

The Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) supports emotions and creativity. When blocked, people feel emotionally numb, uninspired, or struggle with guilt and intimacy. Creative professionals often face “artist blocks” because this chakra is low in energy. Simple practices like dancing, spending time near water, eating orange fruits like mangoes and oranges, or chanting VAM can unlock creativity and emotional flow. One of my clients, a writer, could not produce content for months. After chakra work — especially hip-opening yoga and water therapy — she completed her book within 6 weeks.

Each chakra has its healing tools, all simple yet profound like:

  • Colour therapy — wearing or surrounding yourself with the chakra’s color.

  • Beej mantras — chanting specific sounds that vibrationally open the energy centre.

  • Food remedies — supporting the body through natural nutritional healing.

  • Yoga & breathwork — aligning the physical body with energy flow.

  • Affirmations & emotional release — rewiring the subconscious patterns.

The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) governs communication and self-expression. Many people struggle in business, relationships, or careers simply because they cannot express their ideas with clarity. When this chakra is healed through chanting HAM, herbal teas with honey, journaling, and speaking truth gently — communication flows naturally. I have seen clients who once feared public speaking become confident trainers and speakers after healing this chakra.

The Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) and Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) help with clarity, intuition, decision-making, and spiritual connection. Many business owners make poor decisions when these chakras are clouded by overthinking or confusion. During one healing session, a client told me he could not decide whether to change his job or start a business. We practised meditation, screen detox, chanting the OM, and journaling insights every morning. Within a month, he got the clarity he was seeking — and today he successfully runs his own startup.

This is what it means

Chakra healing is not about rituals. It is about awareness, consistency, and gentle alignment with the body's natural intelligence. Just 10 minutes a day — a short mantra chant, a breathing exercise, walking barefoot, journaling, or choosing conscious food — can bring profound shifts. Your energy changes your life. When chakras heal, relationships soften, creativity flows, and opportunities begin to appear effortlessly.
