Tarot is a mystical and insightful tool, and it holds a unique appeal for today’s younger generation. While I often work with older individuals on numerology reports, the younger crowd gravitates more towards the allure of tarot. One of the most common concerns they share is dissatisfaction with their chosen career path or course of study. It’s a positive thing that they are seeking answers through tarot, which has the capacity to dig deep into the psyche and bring hidden issues to light.

Many times, the underlying problem is not so much about the work itself, but rather the feeling that they are not contributing enough. The real issue lies in looking for external validation. But the truth is, no job is too small or insignificant. Everything contributes to the bigger picture. The challenge is that, as individuals, we often struggle to see this larger view—we are all just tiny specks in the vast expanse of life.

This is where tarot can step in, guiding you through the labyrinth of self-doubt and uncertainty. It helps you determine whether the dissatisfaction is just a passing phase or a sign that your career or path is genuinely misaligned with who you are.

The Value of Every Role

Can you honestly say that the person who sweeps the streets doesn’t add value to our lives? What would happen if they didn’t show up for work? Who would clean up the mess and ensure our surroundings remain livable? Every person, regardless of their job, is a crucial part of the larger system that keeps our world functioning. When we start to belittle our own work or the work of others, we undermine its value, which leads to lower self-esteem and a questioning of our worth.

It’s easy to seek validation from outside sources, but the truth is that your boss or colleagues may never truly recognize the full extent of what you contribute. If you’re relying on them for constant acknowledgment, you might be waiting indefinitely. In this constant pursuit of approval, you risk overlooking the importance of your own internal sense of purpose.

The Power of Introspection

Before looking to others for validation, it’s important to introspect and ask yourself some key questions about your work and purpose. Here are a few to reflect on:

  • Does my work align with my core values?

  • Who am I serving, and in what capacity?

  • Does my work contribute to the greater good?

  • Am I able to use my talents and skills to their fullest potential?

  • Am I growing through challenges at work, such as problem-solving or new experiences?

  • Am I more than just a title or job description? Am I truly adding value in my role?

  • Do I feel connected to my work, or am I just going through the motions?

These are just a few of the questions that can help you reconnect with your purpose. For instance, consider the role of a teacher. The true impact of a teacher may not be measured by grades or promotions, but by the number of students who seek to stay in touch long after their lessons are over. That kind of feedback—genuine, heartfelt appreciation—cannot always come from a superior in a formal setting. However, when it does come, are you paying attention to it?

Self-Recognition

Before anyone else can find purpose in your work, you need to find it for yourself. Take the time to reflect on what truly matters to you, what drives you, and what fulfills you in your daily tasks. When you align your work with your values and strengths, you’ll naturally start to feel more fulfilled.

In the end, your journey toward purpose is deeply personal. Tarot can be an invaluable guide, but it’s up to you to make the decision to listen to your inner voice and find meaning in the day-to-day. Only then will you truly recognize the power of what you do and how it contributes to the greater tapestry of life.
